3D printing of Polymer Matrix composites for aerospace applications

Advanced manufacturing of carbon fiber-reinforced composites for aerospace structures require lightweight and high strength structures. Recently, high-performance thermoplastic matrices have gained interest for these applications due to high thermal stability and chemical resistance. This research investigates integration of continuous carbon fibers into high-performance thermoplastics to enhance structural and durability of aerospace components. Using fused deposition modeling (FDM) and compression molding, we will evaluate the mechanical performance and reliability of components. The goal is to develop a scalable, high-precision manufacturing process to enable production ready components.
